Went for Mother's Day brunch, with a reservation. They were perfectly on-time, as others were being turned away. The place was packed. I mean lots of family groups. We both had steak and eggs. Both steaks were perfectly cooked, as were the eggs. Mimosas were delicious. Fried potatoes and fresh fruit were fresh and delicious. Some of the best restaurant coffee I've had in a long time! Tommy's knows how to handle a crowd. We had no long wait for our food, despite there being only two of us. The service was appropriately attentive. We noted that Tommy's serves brunch on Saturdays, as well. We decided to take advantage of that in the near future! We're customers of the old Tommy's at Northpark, and their return has made us very happy!

I'm happy to finally see a good, local, non-chain Italian restaurant on the northwest side of town. I love pasta and Italian food in general, so I was so excited to see Tommy's open up on Memorial. We stopped in on our way back from a football game in Stillwater and sat up on the patio. It was a gorgeous night, and the upstairs patio is cozy and quaint and I loved it. I do think our service suffered since they are going up and down the stairs all night without any resources on the patio, but it is what it is. We still enjoyed the view. The restaurant in general is gorgeous, so any seat in the place would probably be pretty. We started with the fried calamari and Caesar salads, both pretty good. My fiance had the spaghetti bolognese and I had the cilantro pesto. I LOVE pesto, and the cilantro pesto was different from any pesto I've had. The cilantro definitely offered a unique kick of flavor, and it had corn and bell peppers in it (two of my favorites). We both really enjoyed the flavors of our pastas, but both our sauces were extremely watery, which we found weird and not at all what I'm used to in a spaghetti sauce or a pesto sauce. They didn't taste bad at all, and the flavors were definitely there, but just a bit thin for our liking. Decent Italian food on our side of town. Not the best we've ever had, but good. I'm sure we'll stop in from time to time.

Alone this visit, I stopped in yesterday for lunch and ordered a salad only. Surprisingly, the lunch-special menu is small, compared to some others, but their lunch crowd isn't a crowd, but small. They don't serve pizza by the slice, and I think that most people don't wan to order a whole pizza for lunch. My favorite is the specialty pizza. I've always loved the atmosphere.

Manager was not empathetic after the server spilled food on someone in our party. Very disappointing.

The food was good. The service? Not so much. Our waiter spilled a dish on one member of our party and the manager only offered to help with her dry cleaning bill. What? Our group had 14 people. Only after a lot of prodding did the manager "offer" to pay for her meal. It was bizarre. The manager was defensive and unhelpful.

So happy to see Tommy's back in action! When I was growing up, this was one of my favorite places. In high school, you knew you had a good date if he took you to Tommy's. I was happy to have Tommy's back, but I was even happier to see it in such a beautiful, modern building worthy of Tommy himself. The legendary Caesar was just as good as I remembered. We ordered a moderately priced red, and I had the Capellini al Gamberetti, which I loved. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Kasey had his favorite, the eggplant, which he really enjoyed, and he's definitely an expert on the subject. We sat at the bar, which was a lot of fun. We could see the busy man making pizzas as fast as he could, as well as the other side of the bar, and on into the kitchen. They were still getting it together in terms of stocking the bar and all the wines, but even that part was fun to see. There's something for everyone here: a fun cocktail area and bar with TVs, posh dining area for a quieter meal or a nice date night. An outdoor patio serves a full menu, while a rooftop patio is for drinking, smoking cigars, and all around good times. They've recently retained the amazing services the fabulous, world famous Mr Robert Painter, so you know it's going to be a smash hit. I look forward to coming back many times, and I'm sure a five star is in the future for Tommy and his team.

I have heard of service inconsistencies here, but that is not what I experienced. My lunch companion had the special, Mediterranean pasta with chicken. Mediterranean was code for slightly blackened chicken. Good but not a winner. I had the half pizza and salad. Their Caesar is very good and the pizza was a great compliment. Don't be fooled, the half pizza is a meal. I'll be back. Great place for client meetings.

Accidents happen and it's a ruined night when your host of fifteen gets a meal in her hair and down her shirt. Would have like to see the owner step up and comp a glass of wine. It took a lot of back in forth to remove the half spilled meal from a five hundred dollar tab. He tried to justify the no comp. When you make a mistake own up to it. Not some place I'll be recommending any more.

I've had worse, but this place was borderline awful. Out of the 8 diners at our table, only 1 liked their entrée. First of all, service was slow, especially with drink refills. We had to ask for everything, butter, water, salad dressing, citrus for tea - very tiresome. Three of us got Caesar salads, but the Romaine was wet and the dressing was honey mustard? The booth behind us was complaining about the exact same thing as we left. The lobster bisque tasted like clam chowder and was grainy. The pizza was underdone, gooey crust, the pastas were ALL overdone, far beyond al dente, the chicken picatta was bland, and the salmon very dry. Only the chicken parmigian was decent. We didn't bother to try dessert!

I had a great time at Tommy's. I ordered the prosciutto and egg pizza. I used to live in Italy and was very excited to see this authentic pizza on the menu. I haven't seen many pizzas with egg on them in the US! The pizza was simple and delicious. The egg was perfectly cooked, not runny or overdone. The patio was beautiful and I think it would be a great place for an event for 20-30 people. It's beautiful up there and there is room for a band. The service was very nice and accommodating.

Out of this world PIZZAS! Simply the best flavors. Salads are fresh and dressing isn't too heavy. Pasta combinations for all you foodies! The 2nd floor patio and 1st floor covered patios provide a different dining experience each time you go! Highly recommend this place no matter if it is just you and your significant other, a large group or your crazy kiddos! Atmosphere for everyone!

Satisfied with the food. Very disappointed in the service. I had really high hopes for this place after reading the other reviews. We came for a late Friday night dinner around 9. The place was still packed and it took 5-10 minutes to get a table. The hostesses were nice. However, we sat down and waited 10 minutes without anyone coming to our table. So my boyfriend had to go back to the hostess to ask about our waitress. 5 minutes later a girl came and greeted us with no smile on her face. She was that way the whole time. We got the Tommy's NY style pizza and the lasagna. Instead of getting us new plates for the pizza, she pushed the bread on our appetizer plates and gave us the bread plate to eat off of. So not cool. The lasagna was actually good. Great flavors that's not overly smothered on cheese. I would get it again. The pizza was very average and had a sweet undertone. The whiskey sour we ordered wasn't very good either. Oh, I almost forgot, the Caesar salad was great. That and the lasagna saved them. I hope their service improves so that another local business can stay alive and thrive.

Poor service with mediocre Italian food. Had to remind wait staff of order several times. Pizza crust was visibly burnt, and waitress didn't acknowledge it. Would much rather pay for Olive Garden/Fazolis if I want sub par Italian food.

  • Jenna R.

I've been twice and both times I've had a pleasant experience. The wait staff is very nice. The food is good but the portions could definitely be larger, particularly for the price. I felt badly for my date because when his tortellini dish arrived, I knew it wouldn't be enough to fill him up...so I offered a lot of mine. The food is very rich and delicious. I recommend the Alfredo dish with chicken and bacon. I can't remember the name of it but it was delicious. I had no trouble finishing the entire dish and was left wanting more.

I was a big fan of Tommy's at Northpark Mall. This iteration also has excellent Italian. Having grown up in Providence I do know my Italian food and recommend Tommy's. What I miss however, is what was the best brunch in town. Please. Bring it back.

Average Italian cuisine. The Caesars salad was excellent, the Linguine Con Frutti Di Mare was good but not great, my son said the Cilantro Pesto Linguine was good but the rolls tasted stale. The waiter was average at best. He seemed like it was his first night. Overall grade a "C". As we were leaving we did see them bring out a plate of lasagna and it did look pretty good. That may get me to come back and give them another try. We'll see.

The pizzas, while a great base selection are not the best in town. I've had better in other fine dining restaurants (Bellini's) serving brick oven style. Heck, The Deli and Revolve has comparable pizzas with super fresh ingredients. The entrees (we shared to many to list) are ok and the crab cakes are on par with most others. Meh. Still can't beat Roccocos for that. I give 3 stars for the ambiance, bar and live Jazz. Overall, like everything else, try for yourself if youre an Italian food junky like myself. Grazie!!

  • Carolyn S.

The mussels were amazing! Everything else was very sub-par. The food was bland and had minimal health value. Green beans with brown sugar and bacon do not go with the bland bronzini and flat risotto. I would go back for the mussels, but nothing else. And they didn't even offer us a drink menu.

I love good Italian food and I pride myself in searching for quality. In my humble opinion, Tommy's has GREAT quality! My wife and I tried this a couple months ago and I am just now getting around to posting my review. Here are the details for our dinner : Ambience / Atmosphere - Very modern & classy decor, noise-levels were average. I also enjoyed the "Sinatra-styled" music playing in the background. 5/5 Service - Our server was friendly/attentive and our meals came out in a very timely manner. Overall good, but nothing memorable. 4/5 The Food - Now for my favorite part! My wife ordered the "Tommy's Original Lasagna" and it was piled high with layers of Italian sausage, spinach and mozzarella cheese. I tried a bite..or two, and it was great! I ordered the "Pollo Pancetta." This dish was awesome!! This is a traditional fettuccine Alfredo including char-broiled chicken, cracked pepper, garlic and bacon. Yes, I said bacon!! It was amazing!! Easily one of the best fettuccine Alfredos I've ever had :) 5/5 Overall - This place is great and I would definitely recommend to anyone searching for great Italian food in the OKC area. We will certainly be going back sooner rather than later!! 5/5

Hands down the worst meal I've ever had and after I got the bill I felt like I had been raped microwaved risoto pizza that had no flavor and was not brick oven as menu said and chicken parm from a bag with rotel tomatoes then microwaved to in perfection don't waste you're time or money

Really yummy brunch, good drinks and appetizers. The skirt steak is great! The staff has always been really friendly. If the weather is good you should grab a chair upstairs on the outside deck!

The food was amazing! From the oven pizza, to salmon to the delicious lobster mac and cheese (with bacon, YES BACON). Everything was delicious, plus our server was very kind and took great care of us. Definitely go back!

I was a big fan of Tommy's back in the Northpark mall days, and I was really excited to hear the restaurant was returning. The menu has changed a bit, but all the favorites are still there. Their apps and pizzas are awesome.

Well after giving it 5 stars we went back a third time and it was absolutely horrible. Ordered the BMT which the bacon was undercooked. Not just slightly undercooked, it was disgusting! Ruined the entire visit, this is after our 2nd visit we found a huge hair in the food. Sadly went from our favorite restaurant to a restaurant in which we will not return to. So bummed. Never even offered to take the meal off our ticket, just tried to cook a little longer in which they brought back to the table 15 minutes later, without an apology.

Great food and great service! I am glad they are back open and in full swing. They do not have a drink menu yet but are working on it. They do have a wine list though. I recommend the pecan crusted salmon and crab cakes for an appetizer. We will be back!

We love to sit at the bar & the bar is a good size, but still cozy. Jeff made our drinks the way a classy, high end restaurant is supposed to make a drink. We are retired & eat out frequently. I hate & refuse to frequent high-end places that make a weak drink & give you a chinsey pour of expensive wine, in my case..., Joullian. We eat light & they may need to add some dishes for the healthy minded. The house salad was good, but too big for the plate....fell all over the place. Get bigger plates or reduce serving. The crab cakes were delish, plenty of good bites of crab. However, the calamari was like trying to eat rubber bans. I know it's always chewy, but this brand...not good. Also, the option for flatbread pizzas is a must to be current. They are not currently taking reservations & we will be looking forward to that. We will not try to take a group in on the weekend without being able to reserve a table. We are not wait outside type of people. Overall, enjoyed the experience. There are a lot of italian restaurants in the area, so Tommy's will have to work hard at stealing away patrons from them!!

What luck! I've been eagerly awaiting Tommy's opening for a while now, so last night when I saw a "Now Open" sign , had to check it out, and it just happened to be their opening day! Stopped in around 8pm and while there were patrons, it appeared to be a "soft opening" - I anticipate a big "to-do" coming up this weekend. My rating has a caveat: I was a huge fan of the old Tommy's, so the nostalgia factor plays a heavy influence for me - I'll update again after subsequent visits. - Ambiance/decor: exterior has these odd, blue shutters that scream Country Kitchen, which is polar opposite of the romantic feel of the interior. Modern-feel, roomy but cozy layout, large bar, (very) low-lightening, and classic table set ups - The only thing that seemed out of place was the wall art - Classic Italian countryscapes and fruit (the type of paintings you see on those commercials for an art liquidators event at a motel) - I would like to see those changed out. - Service: we had a sweet, lil gal in training (seasoned waitress was shadowing her, giving her instructions/advice) - You could tell she was definitely nervous (afraid to talk, didn't know what to say when I asked her for her recommendations for vegetarians, no cocktail napkin for my wine, etc.) but she did just fine. :) Once everyone is up-to-speed, I expect the service will be top-notch. - Food: Yelp doesn't have the menu integrated yet, so I took some pics of the 4-page menu for your reference. The listed vegetarian selection is almost non-existent - You can order the eggplant Parmesan, a spinach and grilled veggie salad, or a pizza; however, in speaking with our seasoned-waitress, she explained that Yes- they can make any of the pastas, replacing the meat with veggies. I decided to go with the Mediterranean Alfredo, 86 the chicken - and this is where it gets great - Instead of just dumping some random veggies in the dish, they ended up replacing the chicken with a charbroiled veggie skewer -Super-yummy! I also ordered a Caesar salad (their Cesar salad (I was told) does not have an anchovy base, so stuck with the Cesar dressing. Hubby had the spaghetti with spicy meatballs in a pomodoro sauce, with a house salad. The salads; house comes with mixed greens, yellow tomatoes and pepperocinis - Verdict: good. I was wildly disappointed to see my Cesar was topped with a Parmesan "shake" cheese, rather than fresh shredded or shaved Parmesan (it's these little things that can really elevate a restaurant... ), however, the lettuce was crisp and the dressing tasty. The pastas: Hubby reports his spaghetti was good; would have liked the spicy meatballs to have had a bit more kick, but good overall. My Mediterranean Alfredo - I was pleasantly surprised to see the sauce was a pink sauce, instead of just the classic cream-Alfredo. The dish normally comes with broccoli florets, so add that to my charbroiled veggie skewer, I was one happy camper. Interestingly, something (don't know if it was the sauce or the veggies), had a slow-appearing heat - by the end of dinner, my nose was running and mouth slightly burning. Overall - Dish was good. I do want to note that there's a lack of your traditional cream and "pink" sauces - Primarily, your sauces are a form of classic red and a few basil/pesto sauces. Note: they do have complimentary bread with oil and vinegar. - Ambiance: so for those who adored the old Tommy's with their live jazz and chill-feel, you'll be disappointed that doesn't exist in the new locale. Old Tommy's was a place where even if you weren't hungry, it was a place friends would gather for a cocktail - New Tommy's is focused on being strictly a restaurant. This means the food, service and dining environment needs to be stellar. I don't know if it was due to being opening night, but it was a bit saddening to be sipping my Pinot Grigio to the "classic" tune Sweet Home Alabama... And again, the little things: with the higher prices and romantic -feel, I would have liked to have seen pepper-grinders on the table, rather than the standard salt and pepper shakers. A nice surprise: Tommy himself, swung by to say hello. I definitely felt old when we heard how long it's been since old Tommy's closed down... I know the review doesn't read like 4-stars, but again, there's a nostalgia factor in play. Without the nostalgia, the food itself was more like 3 to 3 1/2 stars. We'll definitely come back (hopefully, once they've gotten all the grand-opening kinks worked out), to squarely focus on New Tommy's and whether it'll become one of our go-to spots.

Really enjoy tommy's! The whole roasted Bronzino is fantastic! And so is their seafood pasta! They had Blantons for a really good price at the bar too, so that's always a plus!service was friendly and attentive!

The service was amazing, the prices weren't over the top and the food was outstanding! I had a Caesar salad and the eggplant parmigiana and they were both so good. I will definitely be back.

Today was the 2nd time we'd been to Tommy's since they opened! The first time we thought maybe it wasn't good (food and service) because they were still getting things ironed out. Today was worse. There was just 2 of us and it took an hour to get our food. The beer that was brought out was luke warm at best. After waiting 30 minutes the waiter asked if we wanted bread. Really? Why not bring it at the beginning! I left half of my meal which was the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad. The chicken was mushy and the pecans tasted stale. We had always been a fan of the original Tommy's, but realize this isn't even close to being that same restaurant. We won't be back!

Love the food. Feels like real food. I'd love to give them five stars but I've been sat at the worst table both times. Next to the back door where all the staff run out to smoke. ...very difficult to ignore. :/

Lovely outdoor patio on rooftop for drinks, pizza and appetizers!! Bar for mixed drinks is a bit slow, got all my appetizers way ahead of my mixed drink! Stick to the wine list which gets served much faster :)) Truffle fries are awesome!

Absolutely Wonderful! We have been 3 times now and every time the meal was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambience spot on. There is a chicken spinach lasagne available that is not on menu that is so good it will change your life for the better!

We tried Tommys for the first time last night. We anxiously looked forward to our evening ever since a few friends highly recommended Tommys to us. We sat at the bar where the ambiance was fantastic as was our service. The first sign of problems happened when we received our appetizer, Shrimp Pancetta Formaggio at 14.00. It's shrimp cheddar cheese wrapped with bacon and deep fried with battered casing. The fritter type casing seemed perfectically cooked however the shrimp and bacon were raw. Sent it back and received another, this time cooked. Very expensive vs. what you get. For our main course, my wife ordered the halibut, my son, the filet special $48, and I ordered the chicken parm. I pride myself as being a chicken parm fanatic. My wife's hailbut was very dry, seasoned nice but three bites was enough, sent it back and declined another. My chicken parm, same, extremely dry causing me to order a side of maranara sauce to help. Did not help. The side of the chicken was so dry I could barely cut it with my knife. I looked under the chicken breast and it was chard. I sent it back and declined another. My sons filet was cooked perfectically but no taste, like it wasn't seasoned. He ate it as he was starved and did not want to wait for another. To sum up our evening, horrible meal, very good service. Will we go back? Probably not.. I could understand this situation if they were brand new to the food world, but these guys have been in the game for decades. Our server confirmed the kitchen staff was not new. The manager did approach us and told us how sorry he was and embarrassed. Too bad, we really wanted Tommys to be a new hangout for our Friday date nights. John- Edmond..

Awesome place!!!! We had a wonderful waiter, Samuel.... never had to ask for anything!!! We had crab cakes, calamari, pizza, chicken Parmesan, and tried some new beer (what the bartender suggested!) Everything about this restaurant was amazing!!! I would come back in a heart beat! Make sure you try the crab cakes!! Also, make reservations, they can be a pretty busy place on the weekends!

We had never visited tommy before. The exterior made me dubious as it looked like a bland chain italian restaurant. Inside it was very dark and intimate. I felt a bit out of my league, we just wanted to get a bite before attending a lecture in the area. We ordered the calamari and sent it back. It was overly chewy (yes I know it IS calamari) it was also tossed with banana peppers which made it a bit soggy. We suspected they had been heated in the microwave. We opted for the crab cake appetizer instead which was good but very hot on the outside and cool in the center, once again, microwave. After that we played it safe and ordered Tommy's pizza. It was freshly made, very nice crust and just the right size for two. We sat in the bar which was quite active the entire time and continued to fill up as we ate. The manager or possibly Tommy himself came and apologized for the calamari. Apparently they don't get food sent back ofter (we don't send food back often) as we heard them discussing the event from the hallway behind us which seemed to be a separate dining room as people kept tricking out of it. Would I return? Maybe, I thought it was too pricey for microwaved appetizers but the pizza was that good, it may be finding the right menu items. It would be a great place to take a date.

The food was mediocre and the service was seriously the worst I have ever experienced. I would have gotten better service at McDonalds. One of the servers was apparently drunk and dumped plates and drinks on several tables. The management was unapologetic and not quick to resolve the issues. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
